Make Up Diaries- Review on Lakmé CC Cream & Lakmé Absolute Creme Lipstick

To be honest I wasn’t a Lakmé fan, until I got my hands on these beautiful products, at the Lakmé Pop Up Store at Vogue’s Fashion Night Out in September. It was really sweet to see how Lakmé gifted these mini goodies to fashion bloggers!  The goody bag had this limited edition Royal CC Cream by Sabyasachi Mukherjeeand the Absolute Creme Lipstick!

Review

Lakmé Complexion Care Cream (CC Cream)
It’s been almost four months now, since I am using the Lakmé CC Cream. When I actually applied the product on my skin, it blended like a dream. It has a velvety touch and it spreads with ease. The texture of this cream is lovely – it’s neither too thin nor too thick. It doesn’t feel heavy on the skin, which is always a good thing. Lightly pat/massage your face for a few seconds and it’s enough to give a nice, even finish! This cream not only brightens and covers, but also moisturizes and protects my face well, with an SPF of 20. It also covers all my pores and minor imperfections. I am now addicted to this sleek wonder. Day or night, daily wear or a special occasion, Lakmé CC Cream has become my skin care and makeup essential.

Lakmé Absolute Creme Lipstick
The sleek gun-metal grey packaging looks classy. The texture of this Lipstick is creamy and light on the lips. The fragrance is also pleasant. Enriched with vitamin E and wheat germ oil, this rich crème stick keeps my lips silky, soft & smooth. If you are a fan of neutral lip colours, then Lakmé Absolute Creme Lipstick is a must try!

The man or woman that sees no beauty in surrounding nature has a soul that sleeps. Nature has myriad facets. It keeps changing from season to season from minute to minute. If the sea was bright blue in the morning, by noon it has become an emerald green hue. The colours of the sky keep changing throughout the day, from pale pink at dawn to a dazzling blue at mid morning and a bright orange by sunset and purple by twilight. Nature reflects our moods. When the sun shines, we feel happy and hopeful. When the skies cloud over and the rainfalls, we feel pensive. A balmy moonlit night can awaken the lover in us. Such is the transformative power of nature’s beauty. Being able to capture nature's natural beauty is pure joy. I was lucky enough to end my last year with this feeling, on my wonderful college trip to one of the most colourful and beautiful place in India, Rajasthan.
Rajasthan is a diverse and beautiful place that beats superlatives. Everywhere in Rajasthan, you will see so much colour and liveliness that you can’t believe that this part of the Indian sub-continent has so much happening. Some of the most attractive Indian jewellery comes from the land of Rajasthan. Rajasthan is considered to be the craft's paradise of India.
Rajasthani ornaments have an ancient and varied tradition. Each area here actually has its own unique style of making jewellery. While the rural Rajasthani women prefer to adorn themselves with chunky silver jewellery, the urban ladies generally go for gold jewellery. Handcrafted leatherwork is the speciality of this state, and you can find purses, journals, and traditional slippers, or 'jootis', at bargain prices. Watch out for overly pungent leather goods (sniff before you purchase), and if you do end up with something smelly, seal the item in a plastic bag along with some fabric-softener/dryer-sheets and baking soda.Rajasthan has a rich textile tradition. Bandhani (tie-dye) has its origins in this part of the country, Rajasthan's tie-dyes are often only one or two colours embellished with tiny white circles. When it comes to fashion and shopping, Rajasthan has something for everyone, even the most frugal visitor is likely to leave the state with some goodies tucked in their luggage.

The Soft Touch

Don't you think velvet is always such a luxurious, rich, and elegant fabric? One of the richest fabrics known to man, velvet is today more in fashion than ever. Velvet has always reminded me of children’s clothes, those cute, tiny, shiny frocks. But this season, it is making an appearance on the red carpet, on fashion ramps, at parties and just about everywhere. There’s something about velvet fashion trends in 2013 that just screams winter time elegance, and now when velvet makes for one of the most sophisticated 2013 fashion trends, it’s high time to seize the moment and make the absolute best of it!  As the holiday season rapidly approaches, it’s time to start planning what to wear for your upcoming festivities. Take this opportunity to incorporate a splash of velvet into your wardrobe. Forget your assumption that it’s tacky and out of style. But don’t go overboard! Here are some tips as to how you can effortlessly sport velvet into your outfits.

Wear a pair of black velvet pants with a t-shirt and blazer, or sport a velvet cocktail dress just the way I am sporting it in this post along with opaque tights (optional) and killer heels. If you feel it is too simple for the occasion then jazz it up with some accessories. I added my Forever New belt and earrings along with my rings and matched my lip shade (MAC’s Girl About Town) with the color of the velvet dress. Not only is velvet warm, weather friendly, and comfortable, it’s also perfect for any holiday party dressing.

A simple velvet dress creates the perfect look for those fancy holiday soirees…Not the type to go to a fancy holiday party? Throw on leggings and a velvet tank and you will still look perfectly festive. Many feel that velvet is too formal for an office environment but if you find yourself in a traditional corporate culture, then implement velvet in a very subtle simple way.  Use this luxurious fabric as an accessory rather than the main component of your outfit.  The traditional velvet jacket has always been an acceptable staple in many closets.  Just remember to keep it simple and don’t over accessorize the look.
