Its that time of year where you need to get your Indian classics out of your wardrobe. The festival season has started and almost every week there is some traditional occasion or affair where you just cannot wear your daily basics. Personally I love sporting Indian outfits and I make sure that all my ensembles are pristine.  I always experiment and blend a personal style or add a twist to it. So I enjoy wearing it as much as I enjoy wearing my westerns.  I am really particular when it comes to choosing these pieces and usually design my outfits personally, which always consumes a lot of time. Recently I came across this newly launched brand called ‘Zehra’ by Disha Vaswani which is inspired by classic Indian fashion and focuses on creating exclusive, elegant and modest clothing for women. I browsed through their entire collection and there was one thing that I observed was- each and every piece is so different from each other and that’s what we all want. You don’t want someone to have the same piece as you, don’t you? Also each and every outfit has an Indian as well as western touch to it. In this post I am sporting Zehra’s elegant Turquoise Pakistani Kurta with cut-work details combined with Chanderi Palazzos. I paired them up with these oversized Gold Earrings and a gold clutch. Effortlessly stylish with the most comfortable fit is all we want, don’t we? What Is Your Style?

Your personality is what pulls your whole look together. It's your personality that dictates your style, which is your own interpretation of fashion and how you like to wear clothes together.

My personal clothing style is “comfortably dressy.”

If you ignore your personality and only buy clothes because they are the latest must haves or trends of the season, you will lose your identity and your look will lack focus and your personal signature style. I am a skater lover. You will always find me in a skater skirt or a dress. I love pairing them up  in different ways each and every time. I accessorize it or throw bold coloured tops/crop tops or spaghettis or wrap a scarf around.

In this post, I am sporting an outfit for the daytime heat but easily transitions to night. I always feel like I have the right thing to wear to any occasion, instead of looking at a full closet and feeling at a loss. My clothes are dressy enough that I don’t have to go shopping for a particular event. One more thing I want to get dressed in about two seconds without having to think about it too hard.

My goal is that I want to look good at home and be able to go places without having to change clothes first. I don’t want to look over-dressed, but I do want to feel confident.

Skirts in various styles are very modish. For me it’s always in vogue and I like wearing different styles like low waist long skirt, high waist, side slit maxi skirt and what not!

Coming back to the Indo western style, ever wondered why it is so unstoppable? One it effectively combines the comfort of western wear with the traditional familiarity of Indian wear making it suitable for everybody. It is also not formed around any rules and regulations so it offers space with unending options for change for the wearer.  It is sleek, chic and modern enough without appearing dull or getting lost in the background. It is neither too bright nor over the top like ethnic wear. And finally it is easy for a person new to Indian clothes and sensibilities to take to them for it lets them experiment with it.

This beautiful piece is from Vesa. It is slim fit skirt with gota work on cotton, with a center stitched box pleat, and a visible black-gold zipper at the back,makes for an elegant statement in itself!
Gota work is a type of Indian embroidery that originated in Rajasthan, India. Gota embroidery uses the applique technique. Small pieces of zari ribbon are applied onto the fabric with the edges sewn down to create elaborate patterns. You can buy this beautiful skirt here.

Envy turns 1!

Hello loves, today marks my blog's 1st anniversary! I can hardly believe that it has been one year already since I took my first baby steps into the blogging world. I’m very happy about my decision to start this creative outlet that has let me connect to you, my lovely readers and I never could have guessed what kind of impact this would have on my life. It’s been a great year. A year in which I‘ve done so many awesome things for which I’m incredibly grateful.
