Summer Slay

Summer dressing is an ode to a certain ubiquitous style-- shorts, stripes, sundresses and swishy skirts, that given a little update proves its staying power. Look chic in the heat with this season's newest looks. Here's how I slayed the summer heat

Military Green Camisole: Zara, Black Skirt: HM; Monochrome throw around: Top Shop; Hat: Local Market in Positano, Italy; Glasses: Aldo; Silver Neckpiece: Colaba Kiosk

Hope you'll enjoyed this look. Too many posts coming your way this week so stay tuned.

The Indian Wedding Drama

Along with being the season for parties and crazy fun this time of the year is filled with Indian weddings, if you are not getting married yourself, you are sure to be attending the marriage of a friend, a cousin, a cousins cousin, a friends friend, a neighbour, a flame or a colleague your ex worked with years ago.
The arrival of the first wedding card of the season always brings with it a sense of excitement at the prospect of bringing out the finest jewellery and those carefully stored sari’s. But as the cards keep piling up the enthusiasm and creativity wains giving way to boredom and unimaginative dressing.

Being an Indian, I do tend to attend weddings on a regular basis and am always on tenterhooks about the attire. I really don’t like investing in grand Indian garments because, lets be honest, once you wear a certain outfit to an event, you really can’t repeat the same to another. That’s why I always look out for wedding outfits that are versatile. I can dress it up with accessories and wear it to a wedding or dress it down to my preference and wear it to a regular occurrence, just like the one I am wearing in this blog post. This gorgeous ensemble is designed by Purvi Shah who is also the founder of her designer label, Studio Vastra. This piece is not only gorgeous but also versatile as I can style it in so many different way. Like probably I would wear this ghagra with a scarlet off shoulder blouse if I had to style this outfit the next time OR wear the long embellished jacket with high waisted palazzos or pants. Also have you'll seen how I styled my other looks for the weddings on Instagram? I would also love to see how you guys style your wedding outfits, so don't forget to tag and show it to me on instagram ;) xx

Fairy Lights and Sparkly Nights, Burning Lamps and Lit up Ramps,Illuminated faces and a Festival celebrated my all the races i.e. Diwali, is knocking at the door. The hustle has begun and calendars are booked! Is there anything more exciting than the thrill of planning stylish ensembles for all those celebratory events and nights, buffets and smoozy dinners, drinks and winks?? Indeed! There is something utterly mesmerising about this festival of lights!

Celebrations are at the peak with everything bathed in the twinkling radiance of diyas, fairy lights and lanterns and the enchantment is complete with everyone coming together dolled up in their finest best to usher in the Hindu New Year. While there is something about new clothes for us ladies it’s undeniably the lust for buying sparkly glistening new Indian jewellery that is an absolute treat. It certainly helps that some families consider it mandatory to buy some gold as part of their ritualistic practices of celebrating the festive season. Clearly not for some, but we’ve still got you covered.

There is always the lure of fabulous finds in the imitation category which I discovered last week while I was headed for some Diwali shopping with My Mom and strolling through the mall we entered the Swarovski Outlet. Both of us were awestruck seeing their collection and in no time we decided to call our ultimate ATM, Dad, and buy us our Diwali jewels right there at that time. For you social butterflies planning your looks for all those upcoming rendez vous around the corner here is a little inspiration with my Swarovski jewels! And the best bit? You can buy all the jewellery online right here- www.swarvoski.com

Detox Day with Raw

I’ve been reading about the health benefits of cleanses and detoxes for a while now but what always kept me from trying one was the idea of giving up my beloved coffee.  Many of you know that I believe in “eating clean” and feeling great so after a holiday and breaking many of my eat clean “rules” I decided it was a good time to try a cleanse.

I’m quite cynical about detoxes and cleanses, as many of them claim to be good for you but really just force you to starve yourself of nutrients and/or calories. But after reading more about the Raw Cleanse I decided to give it a go after an over-indulged vacay.

Tee- Giordano; Skirt: Primark; Bag: Furla; Ring: Forever New

The Classic Raw Pressery's Cleanse consists of 6 bottles of different cold-pressed juices. In order to maximize the benefits of a cleanse and properly flush your system, be sure to drink all the juices provided. The cold pressed juices showed up right on time and were wonderfully packed with lots of ice packs to keep them fresh and preserve their delicate nutrients. I woke up late the day they got delivered to me and hence did the cleanse the next day. Because the juices are cold-pressed recommended shelf-life is only 3 days, so you must start/continue your cleanse the next morning in order to maximize the benefits of the juices. This detox by RAW claims to gives your body a break from heavy eating and drinking, nourishes your system from within, Detoxifies your body and improves sleeping patterns and it did acknowledge the same.

I wasn’t trying to drop weight, exactly, though I’d been feeling a little sluggish. And for as much as we talk on here about the link between looking good and feeling good, I thought a discussion about a more mindful diet might inspire some of you to share (or take up!) your own healthy living efforts. At the end of the day, I wanted to get a jump on feeling a little…Lighter. Fresher. Newer.

If you too are planning a day to detox then I would recommend to give this Cleanse a shot and do let me know your experience on the same. Also don't forget to use the code RAWNEH and avail a 15% Off on your purchases this month :)
